Carole Virden
Carole is a wonderer, walker, and artist. She delights in walking with people in spiritual direction who are interested in foraging for where God has been moving in their stories and noticing how He meets them in their days, inviting them to more deeply encounter and walk with Him.
Carole holds a Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Dovehouse Ministries and enjoys leading retreats, Quiet Days, groups, and individual spiritual direction.
In April 2026, Carole and her husband, Kevin, relocated from Franklin, TN, where they lived for nearly three decades, to the Oak Ridge/Knoxville area in the hills of East Tennessee. They have two adult married children and four lively grandchildren. For the 2026–2027 year, Carole is offering spiritual direction virtually and in person as locations become available.
A favorite excerpt from “Patient Trust”:
“Above all, trust in the slow work of God…
Give Our Lord the benefit of believing that his hand is leading you,
and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself in suspense and incompleteness.”
—Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, SJ, excerpted from Hearts on Fire
